The 1st Regional Workshop of the Urban Invest Window (UiWIN), organized by HUDCO in Visakhapatnam, brought together key policymakers, municipal leaders, and financial institutions to discuss enhancing urban infrastructure financing and investment readiness. The inaugural session commenced with welcome address by Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD HUDCO. Event was featured by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, while Shri Srinivas R Katikithala, Secretary, MoHUA, attended as Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest Shri Ponguru Narayana, Hon’ble Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, delivered the inaugural address. The workshop focused on improving the readiness of urban infrastructure projects by covering financial planning, infrastructure development, and alignment with government schemes. A key highlight was the introduction of City Economic Regions (CER) to boost regional economic growth. The concluding session stressed building a strong pipeline of investment-ready projects, with support from HUDCO and insights from World Bank experts on resilient financing. Discussions also explored challenges and opportunities in Tier II and III cities. Overall, the event ended on a positive note, emphasizing UiWIN’s role in driving sustainable urban development.
