HUDCO is actively participating in extending techno financial assistance to Smart Cities. HUDCO is constantly updating itself with the development in this regard and have been following up with the Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) of Smart Cites for facilitating the implementation of Smart City Mission of Government of India. The financial assistance has been provided for implementation of both components of this Mission namely, Area-Based Development projects (road restoration, open space utilization and beautification, rejuvenation of lakes and canals, solid waste management, development of Heritage projects, etc.) and also in Pan City Development projects (Smart buses, Control and Command Centre, etc.).

HUDCO is giving special thrust to processing schemes pertaining to Smart City Mission. The schemes for providing financial assistance for area-based development in Agartala, Ajmer, Bhopal, Jaipur and Kohima Smart cities have been sanctioned and the Regional Officers are pursuing with SPVs for implementation of smart city projects in other cities.
